Area Manager - Texas

Summary/Objective
This position will oversee all funeral homes, cemeteries and crematories in a specific region including business operations, growth strategy, overall training needs, forecasting, market management, and people development to deliver service above and beyond client and company expectations.
The Area Manager role must be performed consistent with Company mission and values and adherence to Company policies and procedures.
Essential Functions and Competencies
• Provides leadership to the assigned region, overseeing daily business operations and staff
• Reviews and analyzes regional sales and operational records and reports; uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and to identify potential new markets.
• Building/maintaining pre-need and at-need revenue at the locations by driving calls and averages, developing/maintaining customer and community relationships and gain/maintain market share.
• Collaborates with Senior Management to develop sales goals for each location, monitors progress toward those goals, and develops strategies to attract and retain customers.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement within the region to maximize productivity and morale.
• Schedules and directs regular meetings and events to share information, set and revise goals, and to increase morale.
• Prepares and implements district-wide budget; monitors and approves expenses.
• Maintains knowledge of market, competition, and best practices and trends.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent sales and customer service skills, with proven negotiation skills.
• Excellent financial skills to draft and implement budgets and conduct data analysis.
• Excellent supervisory and leadership skills.
• Thorough understanding or the desire to learn of Legacy Funeral group’s products and/or services, and those of immediate competitors in the surrounding market.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience
• Business experience and Management in the related field preferred but not necessary
• Mortuary Science Degree/License for the state of Texas is required or ability to reciprocate.
• Strong desire to learn the management and operational side of the Death Care Industry
