Funeral Director / Embalmer Intern

Expanding family-owned firm with on-site crematory is seeking a competent, responsible staff Funeral Director/Embalmer Intern. Will consider individuals currently attending mortuary school who are willing to seek licensure in Indiana or individuals who have completed licensing requirements and are willing to reciprocate license in Indiana. Applicants should demonstrate a diligent work ethic, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a neat professional appearance. On-call rotation with other staff. Experience is preferred but not necessary. The Funeral Director in Training will interact with licensed funeral directors to learn first-hand about the funeral director career. This position will fulfill the requirement of the State Board of Funeral Director/Embalmers in order to become a licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer.

This is a great opportunity for an intern to learn the intricacies of embalming, including restoration and reconstruction. You will learn cosmetizing techniques for  average and difficult cases, as well as dressing, hairstyling, and casketing. You will also receive hands-on training in funeral directing, including meeting with families who are immediately needing services and families who are seeking to prepare for the future.
