An opportunity exists for a Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer at The Howze Mortuary located in Travelers Rest, SC. The Howze Mortuary is a family-owned funeral home located in the upstate mountain region of SC. The community has a small town feel with the urban amenities of Greenville, SC.

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Arranges, coordinates, and directs funeral ceremonies.
• Embalm deceased individuals to the up most standards.
• Rotating schedule for night phone coverage, body removal (home, hospital or nursing home), and embalming.
• Meets and surpasses the needs and expectations of the many families we serve in the upstate.
• Maintains active involvement within the community and is committed to building and creating effective relationships and rapport.

The successful candidate must have the following:

• South Carolina Funeral Director License (Required) and South Carolina Embalmer License (Preferred).Every applicant will receive thoughtful consideration. Please note, if you do not hold a South Carolina License, support will be provided in obtaining your license here in SC.
• Displays proven, superior arrangement, directing and embalming skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent diligence and consistently prominent level of accuracy.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; verbal, written and presentation.
• Demonstrated strong customer service skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point and Director Assistance software.
• Exemplifies Howze's values of integrity, trust, teamwork, and overall excellence.
• Excellent knowledge of funeral home procedures and business practices.
• Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Continue to better oneself via literature, professional educational seminars, etc.
• A valid driver’s license is a mandatory requirement for this position with a clean driving record.
• Ability to do home/hospital/nursing home body removals. Able to lift 100+ pound body weight with assistance from mortuary associate.
