Funeral Director and Embalmer

Ahlberg Funeral Chapel is an independent family owned mortuary looking to hire a funeral director and embalmer to join our growing organization.  We have a Full-Time opening for a Funeral Director/Embalmer in Longmont, Colorado along the front range of the Rocky Mountains.

As a Funeral Director/ Embalmer, you will work with our team of professionals who are motivated and honored to serve all families.  Ahlberg Funeral Chapel & Crematory serves over 450 families annually. We are looking for someone who can quickly adapt to the needs of each individual family by presenting personal, meaningful, and unique solutions to help families celebrate a life that has been lived. The qualities that are necessary for success are great written and verbal communication skills, compassion, discretion, and team effectiveness.  A warm and friendly attitude, and professional appearance are also very important.

Our directors are responsible for all aspects of funeral service including, but not limited to:  making removals, arranging services, working visitations, embalming and other preparation, cremations and funeral directing.  Duties also include some minor maintenance work and other tasks to help ensure the funeral home is running smoothly.  We are looking for individuals who are sincere, kind, professional, caring, helpful, and committed and someone that places client satisfaction as a top priority.

Requirements:

-  Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record 
-  Must have good communication skills and be able to work as a part of a team 
-  Must have the appropriate demeanor
-  Must have basic computer skills 
-  Must place customer satisfaction as the top priority
- Ability to lift 100 pounds

Experience:

Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a funeral home
Or 
Mortuary Science degree
