Rev. Dr. James L. Guthrie, Jr. Received his Associate of Applied Science Degree in Funeral service in 2019 from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas. He holds a Master's of Divinity degree from Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Virginia and a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton Ohio. He has been involved in funeral service since beginning his apprenticeship in 1999. He has served families in Falls Church, Virginia; Douglas, Georgia; and Valdosta, Georgia. He is a licensed funeral director and embalmer and serves as a tutor with Gupton Jones as well as part time as a hospice chaplain in Valdosta, Georgia where he lives with his wife Linda who teaches special education.
