Originally from St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands, Tamika M. Amey is a first-generation Funeral Director. With a career starting in the corporate sector, she has a total of 17 years in Management that includes 7 years’ experience in Executive/Funeral Service Management. She is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer who currently serves as the Director of Operations at Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. She obtained a B.A in Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock, a Graduate Certificate Degree in Corporate Strategy & Policy from University of Arkansas, Little Rock, and Associate of Science in Funeral Service and Mortuary Science degree from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service. She was awarded the 2010 Gupton Jones College Salutatorian Award, Mu Sigma Alpha Award, Academic Achievement Award, and Dean’s List Recognition from Spring 2009 through Spring 2010.
Ms. Amey is a member of several professional and civic organizations. She is a member of the Georgia Funeral Service Practitioners Association serving on the Education Committee and as the Co-chair for the 7th District Community Service Initiative; a member of the National Funeral Directors & Morticians Association, 40 & Under Funeral Directors, 100 Black Women in Funeral Service, and a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. where she served as the past President of the Epsilon Phi Chapter.
In her spare time, Tamika enjoys spending time with family, traveling, the ocean, jazz music, supporting the arts & the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and teaching Sunday School at her church, Victory World Church.
