Duane H. Piel, LCSW, DAPA, has an impressive background in psychotherapy. As a licensed clinical social worker in private practice since 1989, he excels in psychotherapy for clients in the areas of grief and bereavement; death and dying; and life and living. He also provides motivational and nutritional consultation. In addition, Mr. Piel is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer and he is an instructor in psychology and grief counseling, as well as Business Math and Computers, at Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service. Mr. Piel received his master’s degree in Social Work in 1988 and his bachelor of arts in psychology from Emory University in 1985. In 2003, he returned to school and received an associate of science in funeral service from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in 2004. Mr. Piel is a member of the Pi Sigma Eta Academic Fraternity in Funeral Service. He is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers and a Diplomat in the American Psychotherapy Association.
